Choosing an office chair may seem like a simple task, but when you really think about it, a lot of factors come into play and can affect your decision drastically.
From the average duration you spend sitting down per day, to the climate of the country youre in, these variables can and should affect your decision when it comes to picking out a new office chair. Many of us dont pay attention to the way we sit in our office chair, and it could be ruining our posture.
But instead of writing a brief overview of office chairs in general, Im going to take the time to look closely at all the different types of chairs to help you make a more informed decision.

I am a writer, and I took a full-time work from home job two years ago. I love working from home, but I have struggled to get an office set-up that is comfortable for the long hours I now spend at one desk (average of 50 hours per week for my employer and another 20 or so for my own writing). I solved most of the problems, except the chair. I've tried several from the big box office supply store, but they were big and bulky and the arms interfered with my desk setup -- forcing me to sit too far back. Then I tried a couple of chairs sold by home furniture stores (because they didn't have arms) but they each caused a lot of aches and pains because they weren't really ergonomic, or meant to be used for such long hours.
I was hesitant to buy something online, but I'm glad I found this one. I don't write many reviews, but I really recommend this chair highly.
The biggest feature for me was the ability to move the arms up or down, and work from the chair in either position -- because I move between a corner desk (where I don't want to use arms, for the most ergonomic position) and a laptop desk behind me (where I DO want to use arms for the most ergonomic position). This design factor primary helps to save space when the chair isn't in use -- but it allows me to use the same chair comfortably for both my corner desk and my laptop desk.
I am using the chair on a hardwood surface, and the casters work perfectly there. I was worried it would be too slippy (a problem with the first office chair I tried), but they are perfect: easy to roll when I want to roll but immobile otherwise.
The quality of the construction seems very high to me, and the chair was very easy to assemble. The pieces were carefully packed, the instructions were OK (the photo illustrations are too small to give enough detail, but the design is very intuitive so that wasn't a problem), the company provides an address for support (which I didn't need to use, but which I appreciate having when assembly is required). The casters seem like they will be the first place the chair begins to show wear and tear. All the other parts of the chair seem like they will be sturdy and long lasting.
It feels both comfortable and solid to sit in, and so far the back/hip/neck pain I was experiencing in the evenings with my old home-decor chair have resolved.
I purchased the white model, which looks a little more "homey" than the all black, more corporate looking chair. I am very, very pleased with this purchase. I am actually tempted to buy a second one just to have in reserve, in case anything happens to this one! It's been such a long search for a chair that works!
