Xingnuo Carbon Corporation supply 12-40 mesh activated carbon GAC adsorption systems,Xingnuo Carbon has been effectively treating emerging contaminants like PFOA and PFOS through the use of GAC for 25 years
Xingnuo Carbon Corporation (Xingnuo Carbon or the Company) announced today that it has signed contracts about 230 tons activated carbon for city water system, under which the Company will provide granular activated carbon (GAC) and associated equipment systems to the city of Vietnam. The systems will remove PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate) from the city’s drinking water, which is sourced from the nearby reservoir.
Under the terms of the contract, Xingnuo Carbon will supply nine Model 12-40 GAC ( activated carbon )adsorption systems. The GAC adsorption equipment will be installed in stages, with all equipment expected to be in service. Both the GAC and vessels will be manufactured in China.
With the development of Vietnam's industry, many urban water systems have been polluted, and people attach great importance to the purity of domestic water use. The Vietnamese government has maintained long-term cooperation with Xingnuo CARBON company to provide special activated carbon for urban water purification.
PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS – the two most commonly produced types of PFAS (perfluoroalkyl substances) which are also referred to as PFCs (perfluorinated compounds) – are manmade compounds used in a variety of products such as firefighting foams and coating additives. They can cause potential developmental effects in fetuses, liver tissue damage, cancer, and thyroid issues. Recently, to provide Americans with a margin of protection from exposure to PFOA and PFOS, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established a health advisory with levels at 70 parts per trillion.
“Xingnuo Carbon has been effectively treating emerging contaminants like PFOA and PFOS through the use of GAC for 25 years,” said Mr Li Rui, Xingnuo Carbon’s Vice President of the Municipal and Reactivation Business Unit. “These harmful contaminants are, and are expected to continue to be, problematic for many municipalities and private well owners across China. We are committed to our partnership with the city of Veitnam Department of Environmental Conservation, and providing safe drinking water to the people that reside there.”
“GAC is considered a best available technology to combat PFAS or PFCs. Many municipalities choose our coal-based FILTRASORB® GAC because it is a cost-effective treatment and has proven superior to other activated carbons on the market,” said he, Executive Vice President of the Core Carbon and Services Division.
